Spring 2018 FEAST Facts
Kalamazoo, MI- Last 21 April 2018 in the basement of Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church, 804 West North St. We opened the doors at 4:30 p.m. We first explained the origins of this project as a demonstration of direct democracy, and accountability to support social justice initiatives in this town. We then summarized the areas that need attention if we are to close the gaps in the equal access to all social services and resources here.
In third place we introduced those who had attended the workshop where they were informed about sources of evidence for their April 2018 presentations. Those presenters were:
1). Kalamazoo Non-Violent Opponents of WAR with a request for funds to give scholarships for a Peace Training program to be held September 2018;
2). St. Luke’s Diaper Bank with a request for funds to increase diapers and diapering services in the town;
3). The Fishin’ Weather Project with a request for funds to procure meals, and transport for this youth support network. The people present asked questions and voted after eating their meal and discussing the presentations at each dinner table.
